Shade Beauti was created by music, fashion and beauty icon— Diana “Slinky D” Dawson. As a little girl in Berlin transfixed by her mother’s lipstick, she fell inlove with many shades. Slinky D was inspired to create shade after years of experimenting with the best of the best and beauty and still seeing a void in the industry for products that performed across all skin types and tones. She launched a make up line so that women everywhere would be included focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard to match skin tones creating formulas that work for all skin types and pinpointing universal shades. One day while scrolling her Instrgram timeline it came to her what if there was a place where anyone could make their own shade or pigment and become a creator of beauty on their own.
Audience
The ideal demographic is consumers under the age of 35 that want to create their own signature shade in their “beauti” regimen. The average site user has an annual disposable income of $38,000 and spends over their earned wages monthly to adhere to societies standards of beauty. The average user spends 2 hours a week discovering new beauty trends and ways to stay looking beautiful for less. We expect mostly women and some men to be regular visitors of the website.
Opportunity
Shade Beauti needs a desktop and mobile site for the product to be sold that functions as both an online store and blog. Shade Beauti does not have a website or an online store. It currently relies on the Instagram page and sales are made through direct messages with the owner of the social media page. This site will function as a store where users can buy and sell their own make up. A blog will also feature daily hacks that users can view or upload their own as well. Shade Beauti will have a section where the best selling products and blog posts will be highlighted for easier consumption. Most importantly Shade Beauti creates a platform to inspire. Shade Beauti redefines the rules with more of a global lineup of shades designed for all.
Solution
The site will have an overall elegant grungy vibe that will inspire users to be creative and daring. The products Shade Beauti features are designed by individuals who take it upon themselves to go against the norm and to break the rules and create new ones.
